From 1 January 2023, every medical practitioner in Australia will be required to choose a CPD home and fulfill the corresponding CPD obligations. 

A CPD home refers to an organisation authorised by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) to furnish medical practitioners with a CPD program. 

Having been an AMC-accredited CPD provider for dermatologists in Australia for a number of years, we possess comprehensive knowledge on how to assist you in meeting your specific regulatory requirements. As a CPD Customer with us, we can offer you customised advice throughout the annual CPD cycle. 

Category Who can join? How do I enrol?
ACD Fellow Doctors who hold the Fellowship of ACD (FACD) qualification  You are enrolled automatically, following achievement of Fellowship 
Specialist Dermatologists who are not Fellows of ACD  Doctors who hold a postgraduate Specialty Dermatology qualification   Following completion and approval of your application 
General Doctors who have an interest in Dermatology   Doctors who hold a MBBS or equivalent, are registered with AHPRA and are either intending to apply for the ACD Training Program, or hold an interest in Dermatology.  Following completion and approval of your application 

Benefits

Participating as a CPD Customer in the ACD CPD Program offers Practitioners the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in the pursuit of excellence in skin health. 

The ACD CPD Program is specifically designed to support continual training, lifelong learning and performance review, utilising a CPD framework that aligns with the Professional Performance Framework (PPF) of the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) in order to enhance and strengthen CPD programs.  

The program provides valuable guidance for planning education pathways and clinical practice improvement that is tailored to the individual professional needs and interests of practitioners with an interest in dermatology.

Requirements

Participants of the ACD CPD program, whether they are Fellows or CPD Customers, are required to meet the same CPD requirements based on their scope of practice. In order to continue participating in the ACD CPD program as a CPD Customer, individuals must accumulate a minimum of 50 CPD hours within a 12-month period, and also pay the annual CPD Customer participation fee.

Specialist High Level Requirements

If you are a specialist in Australia, you may be required to perform additional tasks set by the relevant college.

These include :

  • Emergency Medicine
  • General Practice
  • Anaesthetics and Pain Medicine
  • Medical Imaging
  • Sports and Exercise Medicine
  • Psychiatry
  • Surgery

$3636.36+GST per calendar year

Participation as a CPD Customer in the ACD CPD Program provides an opportunity for practitioners working in the speciality of dermatology to enhance their knowledge and skills in the area of skin health.

Doctors who are not Fellows of the College, but hold an interest in skin health can apply to participate in the ACD CPD Program. Please note you must be registered with AHPRA to be eligible to apply.

To enrol as a CPD Customer in the ACD CPD Program, kindly fill out the appropriate application form below. Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will need to remit the annual CPD Program Fee to be able to participate in the program.
